Dbunk and Disobdebly. — Robert Long, arrested by Constable Breen, was fined lOs.— Hamilton Shaw, arrested hy Constable W* l.- --! kinson, and who waß proved by the evidence of Sergeant Wilson to be an habitual drunkard, was sentenced to fourteen days' imprison me? fc, with hard labour. — William Taylor, a recev?. | arrival, arrested by Constable Hendeuon, wafined 10a. — Edward Burrows, another recent arrival, arrested by Constable Barvon, was fined 10s. Dbunkenness and Indecency. — Wil'iam Wells, an elderly man, arrested by Constable Wilkinson, for being drunk and indccentl exposing himself in High street at 6.30 p.m. on Saturday, was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment, wifch bard labour. Dbunkenness, and Resisting the Police. — Matthew Smith, a new arrival, arrested by Constable Reeve, was brought up, oharged with having been drunk and disorderly, and also wifch having resisted the police in the execution of their duty. The constable proved that he found prisoner drunk and creating a. disturbance in front of Bligh's Boarding-house, Papanui road, and that when arrested, he became very violent, striking the constable .twice. A fine of 103 was imposed. Illegally on Pbemises. — Henry Hassefct, arrested by Sergeant Kennedy, was charged with having been illegally in Mr Morgan's stables, Hereford street. Prisoner, in defence, said he did not know how he came to be in the stables. A fine of 20a was imposed. Extension op License. — An extension of license till 4 o'clock a.m. on Friday next was granted to J. H. Hopkins for the New Brighton Hotel, being the occasion of a bell I to commemorate the opening of the sea3on.
