CITY GUARDS.
Yeaterday the City Guards fired for a very very handsome album presented by Mr Lake stationer, High street. The conditions were five shots at each,.rarfge, with regulation targets, and the winning score to be not leas than 50 points. To make this more than average scoring was required, and as half a gale of wind was blowing all the time the men were firing, the prize was not won. To Lieutenant Wolfe, who made 49 — within one of the required number — this must have been very annoying, but he has the credit of having made a, capital score, indeed, under -tho circumstances the whole of the -shooting was very good. Tho following are the detailed scores : —
200 300 400 ToU yds. yds. yds. Lieut. Wolfe ... 18 15 IG 49 Sergt. Strange ... 18 13 16 47 „ Gulliver ... 17 15 15 48 Corpl.
