CRICKET.
♦ A match was played yesterday on the United Canterbury Cricket Ground, between the Officers of H.M.S Basilisk and the Ellesmere Cricket Club, which, in spite of the good fielding displayed by the ".sailors," ended in favour of the E.C.C. in one innings and 38 runs, mainly owing to the bowling of Messrs A. E. Williams and Lambert. The following is the score : — :
