MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at 4.15 p.m. for London direct, per Merope, oa Thursday, the 2nd February. Letters must be specially addressed. Mails for United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, Africa, America, and the West ludies, via San Francisco, will close on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 10.3Q a.m. Newspapers at 9 a.m. Mails for the Northern provinces of New Zealand will close on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. Money orders may be obtained and letters registered up to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Late letters for all the above places may be posted up to 11.30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2. Such letters must bear the usual fee in postage stamps.
