Good barley is quoted at 3a 6d to 3s 8d for horsefeed ; there is no demand for milling. Best oats are quoted at 3s Gd to 3s Bd. Wellington, Sept. 26, 7.50 p.m. The Luna brought back Mr Branigan and 24 constabulary from Taranaki. The Pariaka meeting was over, and

everything was quiet. Te Whiti took the most prominent part, and declared that both Tawhiao and the Queen were no good, saying that he himself was the only person who had done any good for the people, and that therefore he should be supreme. Mr Parris was present, and tried to argue with him, but without effect; he thinks, however, that he will ultimately join us. Titokowaru was present, and said that he would be peaceable, if left unmolested.
