The s.s. Taranaki, Captain E. Wheeler, arrived in harbour this morning, at quarterpast eleven o'clock, bringing the Southern members of the House of Kepresentatives, aud also the heavy portion of the Suez mail. She left Wellington at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday; had strong southerly winds. The Tara naki sailed for the south at 2 p.m. The Circular Saw Company's s.s. Lord Ashley, Capt H. J. C. Andrews, arrived in harbour this morning, at 9 o'clock, from Dunedin. She cleared Port Chalmers heads at 4.15 p.m. on Sept. 13, and had southerly winds to rounding the Peninsula, making a capital run of 18 hours. She brings a large cargo for this and Northern ports, and sails for the latter to-night. We are indebted to Mr Adams, purser, for files.
