CHRISTCHURCH. Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M. Drunkenness.— Hermann Mahnke, who was charged yesterday with having been drunk and incapable, but ordered to be locked up until this morning because he appeared in ■ Court greatly under the influence of liquor, was again brought up. Bis Worship said he was aware prisoner had suffered much from various misfortunes, and that generally he was a hard-working respectable, man. As, • therefore, he had been locked up all night, he would be discharged, but must be more careful in future.— Thos. Hugbes, charged for the first time with having been drunk and incapable, was also dismissed with a caution. ■ —Maurice Ford was proved, on the evidence of Constable Firman, to have been drunk and disorderly at the Railway Station, yesterday. Being his sixth appearance, he was fined 20s, and cautioned that if he came before the Bench on such a charge again, he would not have tbe optioa of paying a fine.
