August 4, 1870. 1372 THE CHARLES JACKSON REEF GOLD MINING COMPANY (To bb Registered.) *■"■*■ ' ' ' COLLINGWOOD, NELSON, NEW ZEALAND. CAPITAL— £SOOO, in 500 Shares, of £10 each. Out of these 500 Shares 155 paid up are allotted to the Promoters, and 345 are offered to the Public at par. £1 per Share to be paid on application, and £1 on allotment, the balance by calls as may be determined upon by the Directors. Pbotisiohal Directors : Charles Jackson, C. W. Bishop, L. E. Nathan, Frederick Jenkins, Frederic Jones, Maurice Harris. Bankbbs : Union Bank of Australia, Christchurch. fTIHIS COMPANY is formed for the purX pose of working a large, area of auriferous ground situated in the Collingwood District, Province of Nelson, and comprising 33 acres in extent, secured by Leases from the Nelson Government. This Land has been secured by the promoters after a great deal of trouble, and a considerable sum has been expended in the development of the property, the purchase of tools, &c. ; resulting, however, in the satisfactory proof that the Company possesses a well-defined Reef, traceable through the property, part of which has been uncovered, and a ton of stone taken from it, at a depth of only eleven feet from the surface, crushed at the Kurunui Battery, yielding 8 dwts. of gold. In submitting this venture to the public, t the promoters invite special attention to the facts that the district is well known to be a rich gold-bearing one, and that the Company's claim is bounded by the renowned " Slate River," from which very large finds of rich gold have been obtained, and is in close j proximity to the Perseverance Company's j claim, whose last crushing of 50 tons yielded 172$ ounces of gold. The main object of extending the present Company is for the purpose of introducing additional Capital for the immediate purchase of the necessary machinery and appliances for systematically working the Reef. The convenience at Collingwood for landing, and the existence of a good road from the Wharf, to the Company's claim, readers it comparatively easy and inexpensive to get machinery on to^the ground. %* Applications for Shares, accompanied by a deposit of £1 per Share, will be received at the Office of C.
