CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. (Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M., and G. Hart, Esq.) Drunkenness. — William Park, on the! evidence of Constable Flanigan who arrested him, and Sergeant M'Knight, watch-house keeper, was proved to hare been drunk and guilty of indecent conduct in a public thoroughfare on Saturday afternoon. A fine of 20a was imposed, or, in default, 48 hours' imprisonment. — John Daley was charged, on the _ information of Constable Eares, with ha7ing been drunk and assaulting the police whilst in the execution of their duty on Saturday. Accused was arrested for the first offence near the Bank of New Zealand, and instead of going quietly with the constable, turned upon him and assaulted him. He was fined 10s.— Michael M'Hugh Menzie, in the custody of Constable Flanigan, was brought up for having been drunk and riotous in the White Hart Hotel on Saturday afternoon. From the evidence of the constable, it appeared that accused, whilst drunk, fought a man in the bar of the hotel, and broke one of the windows.
