The Airedale sails for Dunedin to-morrow morning. The repaired crank of the s.s. LordgAsbley arrived this day, in the s.s. Airedale, land the engineers at once commenced the work of fitting it in Its place. We learn that Captain Kennedy, of the s.s. Airedale, will take the Lord Ashley up to Wellington ; and Mr Andrews, mate of the Airedale, will proceed to Dunedin in this vessel. It is expected tbat the Lord Ashley will be ready for sea to-morrow. The barque William Akers, Capt. Kiddey, arrived in harbour on Thursday night, and anchored off Camp Bay. She came up -the harbour this morning. This vessel left Newcastle on the 24th June, and experienced strong westerly breezes across ; passed Farewell spit on the 2nd inst. ; arrived off the Kaikouras on the 4th, and experienced a heavy breeze from the southward, lasting about eight hours ; thence light variable winds and calms. There were no vessels loading for this port at Newcastle when the William Akers left. She brings a cargo of 445 tons coals, "consigned to W. Montgomery and Co., and 1500 spokes, to Langdown and Co.-

Left the wharf at Onehunga on the 2nd at 1 p.m.; crossed the Manukau bar at 2.30 the same afternoon, ■with a heavy sea on; had north-west and westerly gales, with rain, thunder, and lightning, high beam sea; eased the engines at 2.3D a.m. on the 3rd; at 3 a.m. off Taranaki, at daylight a very heavy sea breaking two miles from the Bhore, and every appearance of the wind and sea increasing with the tide; no signs of the surf boat coming off, proceeded for Nelson at 7.30 a.m.; remainder of passage Btrong westerly winds and bigh beam, sea; arrived off Nelson lighthouse at 9 p.m. same day, having made the passage from Taranaki in 13, hours; left Nelson on the sth at 11.20 a.m.; reached Picton at 6.50 p.m., after a quick run of 7£ hours; started from Picton at midnight; stopped off Tawhiti (to load oil) at 2 a.m. ; proceeded again at 4.20 a.m.; arrived at Wellington at 7.30 the same night; sailed on the 7th at 4.45 p.m.; had fine weather throughout, arriving as above.
