The Star Office, This Day. The Stamp Duties collected during the first nine months of the financial year 1869-70, from July 1, 1869, to March 31, 1870, amounted to £48,758 16s 4d, as follows:—Auckland, £14,355 7a 6d; Taranaki, £510 13s Od ; Wellington, £4885 6s 4d ; Hatrke's Bay, £1278 Is 7d; Nelson, £2958 13a 2d; Marlborough, £406 3s 3d ; Canterbury, £7319 3s Id ; Westland, £3166 6s 6d ; Otago, £12,771 Os 9d ; Southland, £1105 143 lid; Chatham Islands, £2 6s 3d. The quantity of gold exported from New Zealand, from July 1, 1869, to March 31, 1870, was 456,732 ozs, valued at £1,780,300. The quantities exported from the several places were : — Auckland, 91,303 ozs ; Nelson, 114,122 ozs ; Otago, 125,012 ozs ; Marlborough, 548 ozs ; Westland, 123,147 OZ3 ; Southland, 2595 ozs. Canterbury is set down as having exported none during the period mentioned. A table appended to the Colonial Treasurer's Financial Statement shows the value of New Zealand flax exported from the undermentioned places during 1866, 1867, 1868, 1869, and the quarter ended March 31, 1870.
