Rangitoto, Captain Mackie, arrived in harbour, from Melbourne, via Bluff and Dunedin, yesterday, at 10.30 a.m., having left Hobson's Bay at 2 p.m , on the 23rd June ; cleared the heads at ft p.m., and passed Swan Island at 2 p.m., next day; experienced S.W. winds, with thick weather during the greater portion of her run across ; passed the Solanders early on the morning of the 28th, and arrived in Bluff harbour at 9.45 a.m. ; left again at 7 p.m., and experienced strong head winds and thick foggy weather to arrival at Dunedin at 11 a.m., on the 29th ; left Port Chalmers at 3 p.m., on the 30th, and experienced flne weather to arrival in Lyttelton. The barque Thomas Daniels, from Lyttelton, N.Z., with a cargo of oats, wheat, and barley, has arrived in port, after an adverse passage. She left on the 16th ult., with strong W.S.W. and S.W. winds, and came through Cook Straits, making Montague Island on the Bth inst., and Cape Howe on the 9th inst. On the 4th inst., in lat. 37deg. 55min. S. and long. 153deg. 15min. E., the barque was hove-to for forty-eight hours in a very heavy gale, accompanied with violent squalls. She was also exposed for several days to the fury of heavy gales off the Howe. Light easterly winds and calms prevailed from the 15th inst. — Argus, June 20.
