SUBSCRIPTIONS FUR THE BUILDING OP THE NEW CHURCH of ST. MICHAEL AND ALL ANGELS. SUBSCRIPTIONS are earnestly solicited in aid of the above object. ■ The insufficient size, the bad condition of the fabric, and the unhealthy closeness of the present church, combine to make this a work of pressing necessity. It is proposed to build a wooden churoh on stone foundations, to hold, when completed, not less than 600 Bittings,v6f which one-third will be free. It has been resolved not to advertise for tenders until the sum of £1000 shall be in band. The following list represents an amount of £1200 Is, of which the sum of £718 19s 9d has been received .. Parishioners and old attendants at St. Michael's, churchmen generally, and old Canterbury settlers in particular, are asked to join in re-building the Parish Church, the temporary Cathedral, the Mother Church of Canterbury. Subscriptions may be paid to the account of the St: ' Michael's Church Building Fund, at the Union Bank, to the Undersigned, or to any Member of the Vestry, or Building Committee. •"'-,'. . .HENRY JACOBS; Incumbent. • :. ■' -■:.'.■■■■'■'■■■£ S d.
