A letteb which we published yesterday from Mr Wynn Williams will, we have no doubt, for several reasons, attract as much attention as its author can possibly desire. The subject of the letter is an agreement made between the Government and the proprietors of Peacock's wharf, and its ostensible object to rebut certain personal charges brought by Mr Peacock against the writer in a speech made to the electors of the Papanui district on Tuesday last. "We have read Mr Peacock's statement, and Mr Williams' reply with proper attention, and have arrived at the conclusion that the difference between these gentlemen is not one of facts, but simply of opinion. Both agree about the text of the document, and both agree to differ about its interpretation. Mr Peacock thinks that Mr Williams misinterpreted the intention of the agreement when he embodied it in the deed,
