FRANCE.
The French' Prince Imperial is reported to be ill with small pox. i M. Bouher : is preparing a work on the wool trade. The position of M. Ollivieras Administrator is strengthening. Attempts to promote discord between the Premier and Emperor were unavailing; The Senate revolted against M. Olliner's proposal to strip them of' a share of constituent internal power, but sue* cumbed when they found themselves unsupported by the Emperor. The Emperor addressed a letter to M. Ollivier, stating it to be opportune to adopt the reforms required for constitutional government, to allay the desire for change, and settle the public mind. The Ministry was requested to prepare 'ft draft Senatus Consultum, dividing legislative authority between the two Chambers and restoring to the nation the authority delegated to the Emperor in 1852. The abolition of capital punishment is under discussion. 'Prince Miirat has been cited before the High Court of Justice for assaulting" a mason. : ; Father Hyacinthe has been released from monastic bonds.
