RICCARTON ELECTION.
♦ The Nomination. The nomination of candidates took place at the loboolroom.Riccarton, *t noon to-day. Dr Donald, principal Returning Officer, read the writ of election. <■ ■ ; The following candidates were proposed:—* Mr F. W. Delamain ; propoaedby Mr Wm. Widdowaon, seconded, by Mr Wm. Webb. Mr W. B. Toiswill ; propoied by Mr Stephen Barter, seconded by Mr F. G. Steadman. Mr J. P. O'Callagban ; proposed by Mr Wm. Widdowson, secoaded by Mr Denis M'Carthy. Each of the candidates addressed the meet* ing. The show of hands was as follows:—
Mr O'Callaghan demanded a poll, which will talcs place at the. schoolroom/on Saturday next, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
