THE SUI'ERINTENDRNCY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAB. Sib,— As a supporter of Mr Rolleston, Ido think he is deserving of some consideration j from the electors, as he certainly did a great deal when he visited the Chatham Islands. He actually did so much as to cause the dismissal of the guard of honour over the Hau hau rebels, to save the colony a few pounds per month, and, with a kindly feeling, to allow Mr Te Kooti an opportunity of taking charge of the clipper schooner Rifleman, for the purpose of visiting his friends again in the North Island. I don't know what the cost of the trip has been to the colony, but perhaps my esteemed friend Mr Rolleston will give us an answer, as it may assist him in keeping his easy chair in the Government Buildings, and prove to the public that he possesses a certain ability.. > .. . Your obedient servant, ECONOMY. Christchurch, April 28, 1870.
