MAIL NOTICES.
Mails will close at the chief post-office, Christchurch as under : — For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, America, aad the West Indies, on Monday, 28th instant, at 1.15 p.m. For money orders at 10.30 a.m. ;• for registration of letters, at 11 a.m.y for newspapers, at 12 noon. Late letters for the above places may be posted till 2 p.m. - Such letters must bear the usual late fee in postage stamps. An officer of the New Zealand Postal Department will proceed to New York in charge of the mails. For Northern provinces of New Zealand on Monday, 28th inst., at 1.45 p.m. Money orders may . be obtained, letters, registered, and newspapers posted tillyl2;3o p.m. Mails for Otago and Southland will close at 11.15 p.m. on Saturday, 26th inst.
