The Claud Hamilton was signalled when our express left. Tijb three-masted schooner Amateur, Capt. Hughes, cleared the Customs this morning for Newcastle, New South Wales, and will sail to-night. The barque Adeline Burke will haul in alongside the screw-pile jetty thiß morning, and will load up for M- lbourne. The schooner Oreti, Captain Beatson, arrived in harbour on Sunday morning from the Auckland Islands, via Dunedin. This vessel has during the last two months been engaged in the seal trade, but with very little success. Her cruise was interrupted by the loss of her rudder, on the 23rd February, which compelled her to make for Dunedin, where she arrived on the 4th March, having experienced strong westerly gales during the passage. After the damage had been repaired, she again put to sea, but finding that one of the pins of the rudder was loose, made for Lyttelton to repair. As soon as she is ready for sea she will proceed direct to Melbourne. 1 he Circular Faw Steam Navigation Company's s.s. Airedale, Capt. Kennedy, arrived iv harbour yesterday morning at 8.30, from the North, having left the Manukau on Tuesday, the 15th instant, at 7 p.m.; arrived at Tarauaki the next day at 7 a.m.; sailed again and arrived at Nelson at 6 a.m. on Thursday last ; sailed thence at 8 a.m. on Friday, and arrived at Picton at 5 p.m. and at Wellington at 10 p.m., same day; sailed for Lyttelton at 220 p.m. on Sunday, arriving a<3 above. We are indebted to Mr Adams, the purser, for files. The Airedale sailed for Dunedin at 1.25 p.m. yesterday. We noticed that she had on board a fine gazelle, consigned to the Otago Acclimatisation Society.
