IN accordance with instructions received from the Colonial Defence Offlce, the Canterbury district will be subdivided into Three districts, for the purpose of competition for the Colonial Prizes, 1870. No. 1 DISTRICT, The Staff. The Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry, the Lyttelton Artillery, the Engineers, No. 8, Timuka CR. Volunteers. No. 2 DISTRICT. The Northern Volunteer Companies. No. 3 DISTRICT. The Christchurch Artillery, the Timaru Artillery, No. 6 Company, the Royal Irish. Those members selected to compete for the choice of representatives for the Colonial Prize Firing in Otago, will assemble on SATURDAY NEXT, the 12th March (weather permitting), as follows : — , No. 1 and 3 districts, except Timaru Artillery and Timuka Volunteers, at the range, Billsboro'— Ist squad at 10 a.m. ; 2nd squad at 3 p.m. a.:, No. 2At the range, Woodend, at an hour to be decided by Senior Officer in that district.
