Mails close for Australian colonies on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 1.30 p.m. Mails for the Northern ports of Nerr Zealand, will close at Christchurch at 4.15 p. m., on Saturday, Oct. 16, 18G9. . Mails will close afc the Chief Post Office, Christchurch, on Saturday, Oct. 30th, for the undermentioned places ':— For Northern provinces of New Zealand, the Australian Colonies, United Kingdom, via Suez and Marseilles, the Continents of Europe, Asia, Africa, aud America at 9 p.m. For newspapers at 6 p.m. For money orders and registered Tetters at 5 p.m. Late letters for all the above places cau be posted until 8.45 a.m., on Sunday, October SI, by attaching an extra sixpenny stamp in addition to the full rate of postage.
