The Airedale, carrying the mail to Wellington, did not leave Lyttelton till 3.30 p.m. the same day. Surely this very glaring instance of * how not to do it ' was not unavoidable. Football. — The match between past and present collegians and the world, was resumed at three o'clock on Saturday afternoon. The weather was not very favourable, several slight showers falling during the earlier portion of the play, and the muster accordingly was not a large one. The collegians were again the strongest, and several had to be allotted to the '• world," in order to equalise the sides. After about an hour and a half of determined play, the collegians kicked a goal, and thereby won the match. Play was continued until five o'clock, between the same sides, but no other goal was kicked. Lyttelton Colonist Society. — The monthly meeting of the committee was held on Friday night.
