The schooner Dancing Wave sailed from Lyttelton on the 3rd instant, with fresh westerly winds. On Wednesday, the sth, ■was off Cape Campbell, when she encountered a strong N.W. gale and heavy sea. During the gale she split the topsail, jib and staysail. On the 7th was abreast of Terawiti, still blowing strong from N.W. On the Bth bore up for Kapiti, and anchored at 4 p.m. Sailed again at 8 p.m., with a S.E. breeze. Passed Stevens' Island on the 9th, and from thence experienced light northerly weather and calms until reaching the roadstead, in ■which she anchored at 4 p.m. on the 12 th, and was towed in yesterday. — West Coast Times, May 14.
