PUKEHINA SCHOOL CONCERT
FOR ST. JOHN AMBULANCE Quite a fair crowd attended the Pukehina School Concert on Wednesday, held in the Capitol Theatre in aid of the St. John Ambulance Fund. The Deputy-Mayor (Mr F. D Donovan), who is also chairman of the St. John Association, warmly thanked the children for their gesture, mentioning the, work of the stalf and parents whose co-opera-tion, had resulted so. satisfactorily. While speaking, Mr Donovan again urged the need for recruits to the St. John Brigade and Nursing Division. A report of the concert has already appeared, this having been published when the concert was originally held at Pukehina. A noticeable feature was the utter lack of self-consciousness on the part of the children, they being quite at home in each of their offerings.
