BIBLE CLASS CONCERT

SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMME Thursday evening was children’s evening in Te Puke when the Anglican Bible Glass held their annual concert in the Parish Hall. The hall was filled with parent's and friends, who were treated to a programme to suit all tastes. The choruses from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” by the Sunday School children was voted by most present as the highlight of the evening, and the antics of “Dopey,” played by Don Dunlop, brought roars of laughter from the audience. The part of Snow White was played by Miss Verner Washer, who sang the solos in a clear, sweet voice. The washing scene brought forth the remarks from several of the parents that they had never seen the children so quick and eager with water and towels. The programme for the evening was as follows: — Opening chorus, “We Make You No Apologies,” the class; recitation, “Runcorn Ferry,” Jean Watson; song “About a Doer,” class; choruses from “Snow White,’ Sunday School classes, recitation, A. Wilkins; canoe poi, class; cornet solo, N. Freeman; sailor’s hornpipe, Alice Saunders; sketch, “Uncle Hiram’s Cold,” class; song, “My Crinoline,” A. Saunders; club swinging, class; entr’acte “Waves of the Ocean” (Blake) ; song and dijnee, “Where the Lazy Daisy Grow,” class; monologue, “Breaking the News,” J. Nicholls; vocal duet, “The Rajah of Blioug,” Misses J. Watson • and P. Longley; play, “Money makes a Difference,” class; vesper hymn, class; gcod-night chorus, class. Accompanist, Miss W. Harris. The Rev,. T. A. Moresby congratulated the children for the sucees of the evening and asked the parents to show their appreciation of the training of the children by Miss M. Harris and Mrs. 1. 51. .Mclntosh. That a great deal of time and hard work had been necessary was evi- ;■'? denced by the applause that greeted each item. All the costumes of the children had been made by the parents.
