War on Wild Pigs
Wild pigs, which are a pest among sheep in the Wanganui back country have had war declared on them. Since the beginning of June about eighty Ik snouts and tails have been brought to the Department of Agriculture to claim the bonus of Is for each pig killed. " During the three months of 1937, in which a similar bonus was offered, 1286 animals were destroyed.'
