OLD RESIDENT FAREWELLED
Many friends of Mr and Mrs T. Barnett, of No. 2 Road, paid a surprise visit to their residence last Thursday evening to bid them farewell. Mr anr Mrs Barnett are leaving Mangatoi after a very long period, Mr Barnett having spent over forty years in the district. Owing 'to the large number present, it was considered advisable to proceed to the Mangatoi School, where with a large fire, Mr K. Day in charge, Mr Broad with his accordeon, all spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Mr and Mrs Barnett are well-known for their many fine qualities, and those old-timers remaining at' "Tangatoi are losing a good friend and neighbour. As evidence of the respect in whieil Mr and Mrs Barnett are held, they were presented with a tea waggon aiiu an electric kettle, and accorded musical honours.
