TE PUKE DEFEATS WHAKATANE
The Whakatane team was beaten by the Te. Puke representatives by 9 points tp 6 in a game on the Whakatane Domain on Saturday.. As a whole the game was rather scrambling. The Te Puke backs handled well at times and showed pace. Wilson and Graham were outstanding. Their combination was much better than the Whakatane side’s. Whakatane were outscrummed by the good Te Puke pack, and their backs in most cases showed an inclination to tackle high the exception being Oswald who usually made sure of his man. i :

A curtain raiser • will ba splayed betweein “old timers” representing Te Puke and Tauranga.
