The Pig Industry.

Production of Picture Film. The IN Z. Co operative Pig Marketing Association, Ltd. has recently, with the assistance of the Waikato Recording Club, produced a film of some 2 300 feet dealing with the educational and and marketing sides of the Pig Industry. It is the intention of the Association to show this film in conjunction with its annual district meetings in the dairying districts throughout New Zealand. His Exoellency the GovernorGeneral, whose keen interest in all branches of farming is wellknown, has addressed the following letter to the Chairman of the Association, Mr W. A. Phillips, on its latest enterprise i Dear Mr Phillips, —It was with Very real pleasure that I witnessed last week in Auckland, the display of your pig industry film. I have seen many such films in Great Britain, as well as in the United States and Canada, and I cannot remember having seen any of greater practical value to the farming community than that which your Co-operative Pig Marketing Association have produced and are able to employ for educa tional purposes among the farmers of this Dominion, Pig husbandry is an almost essential concomitant of dairy farming, and I know of no country in the world where conditions are more favourable to its successful and profitable conduct. But both in res pect of the type of pig and its feeding and management the New Zealand farmer has sortie way to travel if he is looking to the British market to absorb at re unmet- : a live prices , bacon and pork el j p dUed from this Dominion.
