A meeting 1 of the local branch of the N. Z. Farmers’ Union will be held in the Town Board Office on Saturday evening, An address is to be given in St. Andrew’s Hall this evening, by Mr H. Bjerring, of Waihi. Secretary of the Waihi Douglas Credit Association, who will speak on p the credit - system evolved; by Major Douglas* The Whakatane hoekoy players who visited Te Puke on Wednesday, were entertained by the local Hockey Club at a danCe in the Parish Hall in the evening. There was a large attendance and a very enjoyable time was spent by those present. . The Foresters’ Lodge will hold one of its popular dances in St. Andrew’s Hall on Wednesday next, 15th inst. Music will b 9 provided by the Paramount Orchestra and a good floor and supper can be relied on. The Anniversary services in connection with the Methodist Church will b* held on Sunday next. Mr F. N. Christian will be the preaoher, whilst Mrs Christian will contribute solos. Special hymns will be sung by the choir. A series of addresses that should prove of great interest to dairy farmers will be given by Mr C. M. Hume, supervisor of , the Dominion Group Herd Testing Federation throughout I the Bay next week. Mr Hume will take for his subjects "Modern methods of dairy farming and pig husbandry" and "bacteria aofcicn in milk." The addresses will be illustrated by lantern, slides. The meeting in Te Puke will be held In St Andrew's Hall on Thursday, dune 15th.
