Two-Way Cargoes

Return of Confidence A good promise for the return of confidence after the depression, and an indication of the prosperity of the district is found in the recent two - way record cargo brought and taken away from Whakatane by the N.S.S. Company’s o.v. Toa. On the voyage before last, she landed 250 tons of general cargo from Auokland at the wharf, and back loaded 210 tons, and 23,000 feet of Te Whaiti timber. Both these cargoes are the best that have been shipped for some years past.

The Toa arrived in port again on Friday with a full load of general cargo. Some 12,000 feet of timber and 3000 cases of butter was loaded for the vessel’s return trip to Auckland on Saturday.— Press.
