The last hockey match' of the season was played on tbe local ground on Wednesday, between representatives of the Te Puke and Whakatane men’s clubs. A fast and interesting game resulted the former winning by 7 goals to 4. The visitors were entertained at a dance in the Parish Hall in tbe evening, when the*® was a good attendance of en* ■ thusiasts. Musie- was provided by Chapman’s Orchestra' and songs were rendered by Messrs Fred Burt junr., of Matata, Hud- J-| son, of Whakatane and Miss Mary Raymond, of Te Puke. A 7 very nice supper was provided by 7 the club.
