London Sales ■ ..aiiWw KEEN COMPETITION London, Sept. 20, The wool sales opened today to a strong market. In all 11,184 bales were offered, including 5.233 from New Zealand and about 8,850 bales were sold. There was & good selection, a large attendance and keen general competition, especially from French and German buyers. Merinos, low to medium were 10 per cent above the July closing rates, and fine 15 per oent. Crossbreds, medium and coarse, were 10 per cent up and fine 10 to 15 per cent. Scoured sold at an advance of 15 to 20 per oent, and slipeg, mediqm 10 per cent, fine 15 per cent. New Zealand clips sold as follows :-Greasy Merino, ’March? burn’ top price 12d, average lid j orossbred, ‘Kaka’ lOfcd and B%d.
