The match was one of the best witnessed on the local ground The visitors perhaps had a slight advantage, but the local team, who pleased everyone by their display, bad the satisfaction of not having their line crossed. For the Rotorua team, Green played a fine game at full and Steel. Greening and Thompson were also conspicuous in the back diyision. The forwards were a! good even lot, Scott and Boord being prominent. Little fault could be found with the loovi .fifteen. The match between the Whakatane and Rangitaiki teams for the Parata Cup played on Saturday resulted in a win for the former by 5 points to 3. Connolly, who played a fine game for Whakatane, scored a try which was converted, whilst a penalty kick was responsible for Rangitaiki’s points. Whakatane had a ■good;doil.the best of the game. Mr C. Walker officiated as referee.

In connection with the Parata Cup match to be played at Tauranga on Saturday next the local Rugby Union wish it known that a train will leave Te Puke at
1215 pm. returning from Tauranga at 5.20. A special concession with regard to fares has been made by the Railway Department these being fixed at 2/2 and 3/3 return from Te Puke and 3/- and 4/6 from Paengaroa.
