Husband Remanded On Murder Charge New Plymouth, Sept. 17. -'T Alexander Townsend, aged 53, a farm labourer, appeared in the Police Court yesterday afternoon on a charge of murdering his wife. N Cora Alice Townsend, Ho was remanded to appear on September &4. Townsend was arrested yesterday morning at Onacro, north of \V*& jtara, hy Constable La rouple. The house where Mrs Townsend died a private residence in Sack villa Street, mtsroy, onnupied by airs C. x- C-lckeis. Aso In the. house at the time ftpyp Mrs Vickers' sister and Mrs Vickers' daughter and another girl, both about 17 years of age.
