MR SEMPLE IN AUSTRALIA.

A Sydney correspondent of the Wellington Post writes Mr Semple, who is visiting the chief centres of Australia in the interests of the Federation of Labour of the Dominion, is nightly telling moving stories to audiences 'kbput the doings of the" capitalistic Ci'owJ' in New Zealand. In th j M :lbo irne Trades Hall, he outlined the aims of the Trades Hall, and his utterances are thus reported in the Melbourne Argus: -"Mr Semple said that so long' as there were capitalists strikes would always crop up. In his opinion the late strike in New Zealand was justified because the condititions the workers were compelled to labor under were "absolutely rotten." They could not call their souls their own. To a certain extent they were themselves to blame for the position of affairs. The labor organisations had slept upon their rights, The result was that when they awakened they found the capitalists on top. Their position was then intolerable, and the outcome was the strike. The workers had not suceeded altogether, but nevertheless good would eventually result. Organisation was being carried'on in the mills, mines, factories, and wharves, and in time all the industries would be placed upon a solid footing, as far as labor was concerned. (Applause). They would then be able to present' a solid front to their enemy, the capitalist. (Cheers). He expressed the hope that not only in Australia, but throughout th? whole of the world, would those.in favor of the cause organise, and not rest satisfied until the labouring class became masters of the universe. (Applause),
