The accommodation;.■'■■••at the Motu was reported to be insufficient, more bedrooms- being required. A telegram, was read to the effect that a new, hotel was ; proposed at an early date. To / an enquiry by Mr Dyer as to. what was meant by an early dafc&; no answer was forthcoming.' The owners or licensees of several hotels agreed to. effect im- " provements as recommended by ■ the police and health authorities, before the next quarterly meeting of the Committee. :; Certain matters in connection-with thd, sanitation of the Masonic Hotel, Opotiki, are to be adjusted. Alterations affecting Lake Hotel, • Taupo, were promised in advance. Repairs to the Maketu Hotel ware reported to be already in hand. . . y
