A cruise to Arkles Bay was arranged by the New Zealand Power Boat Association and Ponsonby Cruising Club.

Most of the launches got away to a good start.

The Ponsonby Club's yacht races commenced to time, and credit is due to Alby Braund, starter, who was responsible for this.

The harbour presented a very picturesque appearance, there being over 70 boats connected with the cruise.

This sailing event was somewhat marred on Saturday owing to the absence of wind.

There was a good attendance of the public.

The flagship Sparrowhawk was kindly lent by the Devonport Ferry Company.

The first-class yacht race resulted iii a win for the Victory, starting from scratch, the Moana being second, with the Celox third.

The Birkenhead band enlivened the proceedings with several* selections during the afternoon.
