Truth is stranger than fiction, and the narrative of Yon Luckner, the Pirate of the Pacific, is of far greater interest than most novels, for it has the advantage of being true. It also concerns New Zealand, New Zealand people, New Zealand sailors, and New Zealand soldiers.
