ASSOCIATION.

Three one-hour Association games were played. An exhibition game between Brotherhood and Everton (seniors), a match between two selected teams, and a game between North Shore and Tabernacle (fourth grade).

In the Everton v. Brotherhood game great interest was taken, on account of the close result® of previous meetings, and the spectators were rewarded with an excellent game. Everton won the toss, and

Brotherhood 1 commenced with their faces to the sun. Sliortly after commencement, Brotherhood made a forward move, and D. McPherson shot across when in a good position. Bird transferred to the other end, and Baker centred. Boyne securing made no mistake, and opened) Everton's; score. (Everton 1, Brotherhood 0.)

Everton continued' to attack strongly, combining well, especially in the forward line. Bird was again beginning to look dangerous, but Boyne was off-side and Brotherhood cleared 1 and advancedl. Winks had a shot which Craxton easily cleared. F. Pearson made an attempt to score soon after, but the ball went over the bar. Half-time resulted :— Everton 1, Brother hood 0.

The (Second half opened with Brotherhood 1 attacking. Everton rallied, and transferred play, and 1 , Boyne added the second goal from a rebound off the goal-keeper. Brotherhood forced a corner, but after a melee Everton cleared. Brotherhood still attacked, and Knaggs netted the ball, but was ruled off-side. There was no further score, and the game resulted in a win for Everton by 2 goals.

Graxton, in goal for Everton, played a splendid game, effecting some clever saves. Baker, Boyne, and Bird were also prominent for Everton. Knaggs, the Pearsons and •Corri-n played good, hard! games for Brotherhood.

The Reds v. Gold® match offered a lot to interest. The Red team, playing in Tabernacle colours, was composed of Tabernacle men, excepting the goal-keeper, Miller and Pealing of Shore. The Golds, playing in Shore colours', consisted of players from Adult School, V.M.C.A., and North Shore. An excellent game resulted, the Reds winning by the narrow margin of 1 goal to nil.

Reds kicked off, and the play became very fast and even, both sides struggling hard for supremacy. Both teams were sound in every department, and it was hard to conjecture as to the result ;of the game. No score was recorded in the first half.

When the second spell openedl the Reds began to advance, Mason and Pealing giving an excellent display, putting in several shots which McAneny saved by fisting over the bar. The corner which resulted was fielded well. The Golds went away with a good run. Gibbons put in a good shot, which just went over the bar. The Reds cleared), however, and the play continued very fast and exciting. The Reds attacked strongly, and Mason, securing the ball, passed to Pealing, who made no error and scored the only goal of the match.

Pealing, of North Shore, was responsible for a dashing game for the Reds, as were Jenkins and Gibbons for Gokfe.

The fourth grade match between North Shore and Tabernacle was a real good display, and resulted in a win for Shore by 4 to 0.
