The biggest and brightest pro*;.ran me of winter games w:s provided l , in which all classes of players, from the oldest to the youngest, were given the opportunity to display their skill.

The arrangements were most completee, and the lengthy programme was carried' out to time.

When the games were in full swing the big playing area, with its many uniformed players, presented a most picturesque appearance.

The keen enthusiasts hung close to the side line of their respective games, but thousands of spectators found much enjoyment in wandering round! the slopes and gaining a gene ral view of tlie proceedings.

The football naturally had the biggest following, but a game that won golden opinions from the spectators as being exceptionally suited for the gentler sex was basketball.

Although the carnival was promoted in the interests of the Hospital Ship and Killed and Wounded Funds, it hns had many benefiecial effects. The managements of the various sports have been drawn in close contact, with the result that in future a much better understanding will exist.
