BOWLING.

The followers of winter bowls are showing keen enthusiasm. The greens on Saturday last were somewhat heavy after the rains during the week. Ordinary draw games were the order at Powsonby green., where three rinke were played. Pelham, 22, accounted for McLeod, 16, Gardner got home by 4 from McLaren, the final camte reading 24-20, while a win by 8 points fell to Howard's four in their test against Jury's quartette.

Carlton hadi a few of tine enthusiasts busy. Martin andl Laurie had a cloise go, the former getting home with a score of 21 to 20. Fookes just ,got home by .a similar margin from Perrett. The most substantial win was Ross's 24 against O'Sullivan, 16.

An omiissioin from last week's report of the Rocky Nook Club was the fact that the club's representatives during the past season ©ucceed'ed in winning the Clubs' Executive Match, thus entitling them to hold the handsome silver cup for twelve months. Those responsible for the win were Messrs D. McCulloeh, T>. Middleton, W. Irvine and J. W. Butler (skip).

Despite the inclement weather last week quite a number of enthusiasms turned out to indulge themselves in. a game of bowls at Rocky Nook.

George Clark, in charge of a team from Grey Lymn, tried conclusions with a Rocky Nook team skipped by Sam Jenkin, and a close game was the result.

On the twenty-first head the game stood) level, and it was decided to play twenty-five heads, when the Nookites outpaced the Lynnets by 7 points, the score reading 25-18.

GLark .received solid alsfflstanoe from F. Parsons, W. Dimery and A. Gray, whilst Will. Jenkin, G. Gladding and F. Ellisdon ably supported Sam. Jeinkin.

Bouskill and Wakerley had a battle royal over twenty-five heads. The score on the fifteenth head was 10 in Bauiskill's favour, but here Wakerley got to work, wiped' off the deficiency, and finished up to the good, scores being 26-20.

Rathbane, Napier and Fraser materially assisted Wakerley, Napier's play especially deserving mention, whilst Bouskill's associates were Turner, White and Clark.

Williams had a good win from Earnsfield, the former establishing a lead! right from the start which the latter could not overtake, the game ending 24-14.

Aspden and Hinst did all that was •requlired for Williams,, and W. Giladding and Pearce did their best for Eransfield. Aspden, as lead, was right on the job.

The tenth annual meeting of the Waitemata Bowling and Croqiiet Club was held at the pavilion, Northoote, when there was a record attendance of members, Mr W. A. Gray presiding. The report and balance-sheet was unanimously adopted. The financial position of the club is sound, and there was a profit of £9 9s 3d on the- season's working. The report congratulated the members on the satisfactory progress of the club, and , also oni the excellent playing quarters of the new green and} croquet courte, and

Ten in-ter-club matches played resulted as follows: —AVo'n 5, tied 1, lost 4, scoring 687 points against 707. These results wore a great improvement on previous records. The club was represented at all town tournaments with creditable results. Mr W. W. Luke won the club championship, and the junior handicap was won by Mr A. Parrish.
