In the case the AttorneyGeneral versus W. J. Geddis and William Blomfield, proprietors of the Auckland OBSERVER, an action alleging' contempt of court, Chief Detective McMahon, in his statement, swore " The OBSERVER is a weekly illustrated newspaper published in Auckland,; and having a considerable circulation in Auckland and elsewhere in New Zealand."
