The Auckland Amateur Operatic Society is getting along famously with the researsals for the forthcoming production of " The Mikado." Mr Tom TPollard has arrived, and is now comducting rehearsals, drilling the chorus, etc. The reorganised company contains a number of excellent performers and the money expended on new costumes and scenery will enable the company to stage the piece as well as any professional management, while the frequent rehearsing and training, particularly under the expert guidance of Mr Pollard, will result in the company performing with that swing and cohesion that can only be gained by long practice. The first performance of " The Mikado" will be on October 30th.
