Next Saturday afternoon the "Northern^ Boxing Association will hold their championship events afc Fullers' Opera House at 2.30 p.m. . Record entries have been received for the following five classes-: — Bantamweight — D. Wright (Tuakau), S. Dawson, C. Little. E. O'Meara, D. O'Brien, T. Taylor. Featherweight — H. McNeill, A. "Wilson, J. Matthews, A. Trezise (Aehburton), Light-weight — A. Meek, R. Craig, L. O'Halloran (Waildno), J. G. Thompson (Otago), T. Hesse, L. Gr. Ross, B. F. England, J. Henderson, G. S. Singer, A. J. Blewden. Middle-weight — T. Mahoney (One--7 hunea), E. West, E. Manly" (Otago), n| A. Pooley, W. Milieu, R. W. Hill, *P. Jackson. Heavy-weight —A. '"> McLiver, F. Pearce, Gunner S. Moore. First prize in each class, "} a:old medal value £3. Seoond prize in each class, trophy value £2. On the same afternoon Taylor and O'Meara will contest the final four ""■ rounds oftheßst. 71b Novice Tournament, which was held over from thelast carnival. In addition to the above contests, Mr Tom Lee, the exchampion heavy-weight of Australia, will give an exposition of teaching: boxing without injury to the rmpil. From' this tournament candidates will be chosen for the New Zealand Champion shins, to b^ held at D"uedin on the 22nrl and 23rd July. The profits derived from the tournament will be devoted to dHravrng the exnemses of sending the +-cam South.
