Irish started favourite for the ■Wanganui Steeplechase. He appears to have been very unlucky, for after having run well for nearly the whole of the distance he came to grief entering the straight. , Mahoe and Irish, at the time of writing are at the short price of 20 to 1 for the G.N. double. Others that are well supported are Shrapnel and Haydn (both Shore winners). The other Wanganui winners, Nadador, Waiterere, Rangitoto, and Le Beau, who scored two seconds, are also more or less strongly fancied.
