BELL BLOCK.
The concert and basket social in aid of the the new Bell Block Hall, which is to be built there this winter, came off. last week, and was a great success, the funds being enlarged to the extent of £11, which in itself shows the way in which the committee worked. Messrs L Connett, MC, and Secretary Kine put in some thorough ' hard graft ..Mr J B Connett presided over the concert, the following being the programme :— Song, Mr F Asher ; song, Miss Davy ; song, Miss B Putt ; Indian club exhibition, Mr W J Treeby ; song, Mr G H Budd; reading, Mr James Hill ; song, Mr McComish ; song, Miss Bundle; duet. Misses Connet and Western ; song. Miss F Snell ; pianoforte solo, Miss Littlepage ; song, Miss Telfar; duet, Misses Putt ; song, Mr A Veale ; song, Mr J Hill. The selling of the baskets, in the able hards of Mr G W Potts and Mr McComish. caused a great deal of amusement.and bidding was very brisk, as much as 10s beiDg given for one. At about 2 o'clock ended one of the most successful socials ever held in Bell Block.
