LEIGH.
JW says he felt so warmed up at seeing how the young sparks and the old flames kept things going at the barn that night, that he hadn't the conscience to throw cold water on the scene.. Our roads need skilful navigation on account of the acute angles, and we have to circle the square and reach the west by striking due east and squirming round the corners like crabs.. ...Everything is very much ' on the ball 'at present ; but we are better on the light fantastic than at ' heeling put,' and we pack uncommonly well, and never ' break away ' when the tucker's on the board. Then the pickanninies are all on the ' bawl,' too, and the evening concerts on the western road whip the angels' chorus all to pif ces.. No deaths from football this week, only the. usual crop of disasters, so the two Warkworth doctors are not overworked— as yet. ..Settlers -mut-t pull all together now, and not let the monied f-hip-people sit on them and melt them down.
