CTAHUHU TROTTING CLUB.

The Otahuha Trotting Club have been fortunate. Postponed meetings are no* often successful. Usually the throwing out of gear of various Bide arrangements in connection with a meeting has a bad effect on a club's finances. But the Otahuhu Trotting Club's enforced postponement of the second instalment of their summer fixture had a reverse result — a big success Finer weather could hardly be desired by race-goers than that which was experienced last Saturday. The true popularity of the Pony and Trotting meets at Potter's was therefore made apparent by the large attendance. And none, I think, who witnessed the sport had cause for any other feeling than enjoyment and satisfaction. There was an entire absence of anything to mar the sport, which was really interesting, exciting, and agreeable. Mr Lockhart, secretary ,and ofcner working officials of the club, working in unison and energetically, were responsible for the smoothness of the business arrangements throughout the day. The fields which started were in most case- large ones, the starting, under Mr Cut: h management, being in that gentlemai » beßt form. Altogether the two days' spori during the meeting was of an ex celli ut order, and I am glad to be able to chronicle such a tuccess to the club.
