The Central Mission, which is to be commenced in the Oddfellows' Hall, Cookstreet, on Sunday night, is to be of an unaectarian character, and will endeavour to reach, by various means, the great unreached majority, foi whose spiritual wellbeing the churches do not cater. Mr Jno. Donglaas, Mr W. H. Smith, and others well-known -in the community, are to direct operations. Mr Smith, we have been informed, resigned his connection with the Helping Hand Mission, which he commenced and conducted for many years, in order to take an active part in the new mission, and leaves his old associates on the very best of terms. There is abundant scope for agencies of the character contemplated, and its unsectarian basis will commend it to a much wider sympathy than a denominational organisation. All the Ladies op Auckland get their Music Books tastefully, neatly, and cheaply bound at Mr Leys', the well-known Book binder of Wyndham-street (two doors below the Gas office).— Advt.
